My coaching philosophy starts with YOU! I don’t have plans or schedules set until I know about your specific background and training goals. From there, I believe in:
- Steady, logical progressions in workouts from where you are now to where you want to be – NOT a cookie cutter training plan that’s been made for the general public.
- Athlete-centered, not system-centered, coaching. Runners are not robots, so I don’t coach you like one!
- Taking an athlete to the edge but not over it! You can’t race if you don’t make it to the start line healthy. I want to find your training threshold and train right up against it to increase the adaptations you get.
As an RRCA certified coach, I love to research training methods and what successful athletes have done (seriously – I can’t stop reading!). I do this so all you have to do is RUN! It takes the guesswork out of training.
Admittedly, I’m not an Olympian or cross country coach at a big university. (Those coaches frequently command $200/month!) I will NOT be the most talented coach and am okay with that. MY goal is to be the most passionate, committed, and detail-oriented coach that you will ever find!
